College of Education receives grant to support underrepresented students in pursuing careers in STEM fields
A $75,000 grant from Duke Energy will allow the USF St. Petersburg campus to establish programming that helps initiate partnerships with schools, developing curriculum, establishing STEM-focused clubs and recruiting female and minority students in Pinellas County.

USF Dining supports local restaurants through Aramark-developed program
Recently launched inside the Marshall Student Center food court on the USF Tampa campus is Local Restaurant Row, an Aramark-developed program that brings minority- and women-owned vendors to client locations within higher education, health care and corporate dining. The USF St. Pete campus will debut the program at The Reef in the fall.

New 'Lost Voices' exhibit translates and digitizes America’s oldest parish archive to provide rare insight into early Florida history
A new online exhibit launched by La Florida: The Interactive Digital Archives of the Americas provides the public with unprecedented insight into the daily lives and relationships of the multi-ethnic population that comprised St. Augustine, Fla. from the 16th-19th centuries. The Florida city is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the continental U.S.

Christian Hardigree selected as next regional chancellor of University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus
Christian Hardigree most recently served as the founding dean of the School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University (MSU) of Denver. She will begin her new role at USF on July 1.

The $14 million gift will support the USF Muma College of Business’ vision to become a “hub of excellence” in fintech. Fintech, short for "financial technology," impacts everything from mobile banking and insurance to crowdfunding, blockchain, cryptocurrency and investment apps.

Tampa Bay Wave and USF announce 16 fintech startups for the inaugural FinTech|X Accelerator 2022 Cohort
The inaugural FinTech|X 2022 Accelerator program cohort consists of 16 high-growth fintech startups from across the United States and abroad, including companies from Israel, England, Saudi Arabia and Germany. Three are led by women entrepreneurs, and there is significant representation from military veterans, LBGTQ+ and minority founders.
